Suede Aces is a New Jersey hard rock and blues band whose songs pair blues-rooted playing with soul-led vocals and arrangements written for the stage.
The band draws on the dynamic range of Led Zeppelin and the vocal phrasing of Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin, working inside the classic rock tradition without treating it as a period piece.
Lily Slix, Vocals
Vocalist Lily Slix grew up in the trade, following her father into a working musician's life. She was recording in studios by nine and performing live by thirteen, with the composure of a singer well past her years. Her voice sets the band's melodic centre and carries its dynamic range from a held phrase to a full chorus.
Darrin Bell and Tommy Bell, Guitar and Drums
Brothers Darrin and Tommy Bell have played together since their father handed them their first instruments, and the years behind them show in how closely the guitar and the kit move. Darrin's playing runs from blues-rooted riffs to extended melodic passages; Tommy plays with the weight and the timing of the classic rock drummers he came up on.

Gareth "Gort" Odendaal, Bass
Gareth "Gort" Odendaal joined on bass in late 2025, after years of playing at home and with friends without ever taking a stage. His second show with the band, in January 2026, was at The Stone Pony. He holds the low end with restraint, giving the songs their floor rather than crowding them.
Jerry Reaves, Rhythm Guitar
Jerry Reaves joined on rhythm guitar in 2026, bringing a lifetime of playing and a deep classic rock vocabulary that fills out the band's arrangements beneath Darrin's leads.
On Stage
Since forming in 2021, Suede Aces has worked steadily on the live circuit and built a reputation for direct, well-drilled performances. The band has opened for Steven Adler of Guns N' Roses and for Slaughter at the Starland Ballroom, and shared a bill with Rachel Bolan of Skid Row at The Stone Pony.
Suede Aces keeps one foot in the roots of rock and the other in where it is going, and the songs come out loud, honest, and unmistakably their own.

New Jersey's Suede Aces Release Debut Album SUEDE ACES
Eleven tracks of blues-rooted hard rock from the New Jersey five-piece, out April 17.
New Jersey. Hard rock band SUEDE ACES have released their self-titled debut album, SUEDE ACES, an 11-track record built on blues-driven riffs, soul-led vocals, and the dynamics that define the band's live set.
The record works inside the classic rock tradition with a contemporary edge, pairing detailed playing with direct songwriting. It moves from groove-driven rockers to slower, vocal-led material, and covers the range the band has developed on stages across New Jersey and beyond.
SUEDE ACES is fronted by vocalist Lily Slix, alongside guitarist Darrin Bell, drummer Tommy Bell, bassist Gareth "Gort" Odendaal, and rhythm guitarist Jerry Reaves. Years of playing together have given the lineup a familiarity that carries from the stage into the studio.
Press Release, continued
The band has built its reputation on the live circuit, opening for Slaughter and Steven Adler (Guns N' Roses) at the Starland Ballroom and headlining The Stone Pony. The record keeps that intensity intact, and it stands as both a debut statement and a marker of where the band is heading.
The album follows the debut single “Envy,” which introduced the band's blues-led approach to hard rock. With the full record out, SUEDE ACES continue to establish a position in contemporary rock on their own terms.
SUEDE ACES is available now on all major streaming platforms.
